The optional preconditioning add-on extends Pro Max to high-capacitance and metastable devices. Pair the 500 ms pulse with steady-state preconditioning and you get reliable, repeatable IV on perovskite tandems and thin films like CIGS or CdTe, without losing accuracy on standard silicon.
