Nexun Perovskite

Silicon and perovskite. One machine.

A dual-light-source LED simulator. Premium AM1.5G pulse for high-accuracy silicon, an independent 300–1000 nm steady-state source for perovskite metastability preconditioning, both synced. One footprint, one budget, both chemistries at certification-grade accuracy.

Why two sources

Different cells. Different light.

Forcing a single light source to do both silicon and perovskite means compromising one of them. Silicon wants a premium AM1.5G spectrum and a clean fast pulse. Perovskite wants steady illumination at the wavelengths it actually responds to, for long enough to escape its metastability behaviour. Nexun Perovskite gives each chemistry its own engine, then syncs them.

Pulse source

Premium AM1.5G LED

The flash engine is identical to the one driving Nexun Pro and Pro Max, 17 or 22 wavelengths of independently-controlled premium LED with class A+ spectral match across the full IEC 60904-9 band set. It is reserved for the measurement pulse, so the spectrum stays untouched and silicon module accuracy stays at the top of what LED can deliver.

Steady-state source

300–1000 nm preconditioning

A second, independent LED bank runs continuously over 300–1000 nm, the wavelength range perovskite cells actually respond to. It preconditions the device on its operating illumination so the IV curve lands on the stabilised state, no metastability artefacts, no spectral compromise to the pulse engine. Specify the 1200 nm extension if you also want steady-state on silicon.

Synced operation

Flash during preconditioning.

The two sources are time-synced. That single design choice is what lets you put silicon-grade flash measurement and perovskite metastability handling on a single instrument without sacrificing either.

  1. 01

    Precondition the perovskite

Bring the steady-state source up. The 300–1000 nm continuous illumination drives the perovskite to its stabilised operating point, typically 60 s to several minutes, depending on the chemistry and the metric you are after.

  2. 02

    Flash through the precon

The pulse and steady-state sources are time-synced. The 500 ms premium AM1.5G flash fires while the steady-state is still on, capturing the IV curve while the perovskite is held on its stabilised state. The premium spectrum is untouched, the perovskite never falls off its operating point.

  3. 03

    Measure silicon, untouched

Switch off the steady-state source and the pulse engine reverts to the same workflow as Pro or Pro Max, full premium AM1.5G spectrum, 500 ms pulse, A+ across all bands. Silicon module measurement stays at full accuracy. One machine, two chemistries, no compromise on either.

Who it's for

One footprint. Two chemistries. Half the budget.

The classical answer to "we measure silicon and perovskite" is two simulators in two rooms. Nexun Perovskite collapses that into one bench, one calibration chain and one budget, without compromising either measurement.

  • Labs that need certification-grade silicon AND perovskite on a single instrument
  • Universities and research groups without space or budget for two simulators
  • Tandem-cell developers who measure silicon, perovskite and tandem on the same bench
  • Module makers piloting perovskite-on-silicon tandems and stabilising the workflow before scaling
Base unit

Built on Pro or Pro Max.

Nexun Perovskite is a dual-source configuration of an existing Avalon module simulator. Pick Pro for cost-effective production-grade work, or Pro Max for the tighter LTI, larger area, and 22-wavelength engine that lab-reference work demands.
